Membership Class

A simple, guided introduction to who we are, where we came from, and what it means to belong here.

Welcome. We’re really glad you’re here.

If you’ve made it to this page, there’s a good chance something in you is asking a deeper question than just, “Do I like this church?”

You’re starting to ask, “Is this my church?”

This class is here to help with that. As you go through the videos below you’ll discover how we got started, what we value, how we’re led, and what membership actually means at Goodly.

Take your time. Pause when you need to. Come back to this page any time you wish. Talk it through with your spouse or friends if that’s helpful.

By the end, our goal is simple: that you have clarity about what membership at Goodly is all about.

Start with the first session below and work through at your own pace.

    2. The kind of church we want to build

  • 3. What is church for?

    3. What is church for?

Alyn and AJ explore a big question: what is the church actually for? They unpack four broad purposes of the church: proclaiming the gospel, making mature disciples, cultivating worship and the presence of God, and building a community where people are encouraged, strengthened, and cared for.

  • 4. Church membership Q&A

    4. Church membership Q&A

In this video, Alyn talks about how to discern which church to commit to, what membership at Goodly actually means, how spiritual gifts grow and mature, why elders matter, and why Goodly is taking its time in appointing them. Along the way, he unpacks the heart behind membership, not as pressure or performance, but as clarity, commitment, and a shared life of discipleship.

You made it!

Thanks for taking the time to walk through this. Our hope is that this gave you a clear and honest picture of Goodly, not just what we say, but how we live.
