Strategic Giving with QCDs and DAFs

Making a gift through a Qualified Charitable Distribution or a Donor-Advised Fund is a tax-efficient way to support our mission.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

If you’re 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to Goodly. This type of gift:

  • Counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

  • Reduces your taxable income.

If you’re interested in making a QCD, simply reach out to your IRA custodian and request a direct transfer to Goodly. They may need our name, address, and Tax ID number to complete the process—feel free to contact us if you need any assistance with the details.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

You can recommend a grant to our church from your DAF. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your DAF account.

  2. Search for our church using our name and Tax ID number.

  3. Submit your grant recommendation.

Your generosity makes a lasting impact. If you need our Tax ID number or have questions about giving through QCDs or DAFs, please contact us at giving@goodly.church.

FAQ

  • Why do I see a transaction fee when I give?

Every bank and financial institution charges a fee for every transaction made. These fees are deducted from your donation. For credit and debit card transactions, the fee is 2.15% + $0.30. For bank-to-bank (ACH) transfers, the fee is $0.30. When you give, you have the option to cover the cost of the processing fee to ensure Goodly receives 100% of your donation.

  • Will I receive a tax-deductible receipt?

Goodly is a nonprofit religious organization with 501(c)(3) status. Donations made by US taxpayers will be tax-exempt. We record donations given online, via the app, or by check (but not for cash donations). You can view your giving history at any time and we issue annual statements each January.

  • Is online giving safe?

Yes. All of your transactions are handled by Stripe, the internet’s leading authority on payment processing. These are the people behind payments at Amazon, Google, and Shopify.

  • How can I give at Goodly?

You can give online using credit and debit cards or via bank-to-bank transfer using ACH. You can also give via cash or check in person at one of our services. You may also post checks to our mailing address. The simplest way to give is by using our app, Church Center.

  • Can I give using Apple Pay?

You can give using Apple Pay on the web or via the ChurchCenter app available for iPhone and iPad.

  • How can I get help with giving?

If you need assistance, please email giving@goodly.church or visit our question desk after service on Sundays.

Thank you for generously giving and faithfully tithing.

You are helping seekers believe and believers grow.
